Catalina Mountains

Frank Rose has hiked thousands of miles in Arizona, most of them in the Santa Catalina Mountains over a period of thirty-six years. Here the author of “Mountain Wildflowers” and “Mountain Trees” uses 180 original watercolors to take readers on a guided tour up and down his beloved mountain. Along the way he gives readers insights into the local landscape, the history, the natural beauty, and magical places he has found over the years. The book includes landscape paintings along with portraits of flowers that might be seen in that part of the range – including their common name and scientific name.
